at the Industry Awards given by the
Pet Care Trust
We have fantastic news!! As a company, Bath Pet Centre (incorporating Bath Pets 2 at Larkhall and Frome Pet & Aquatics) have won the Pet Care Trust's Industry Award in the UK for PET RETAILER OF THE YEAR!
We were up against very tough competition - but the judges were most impressed by Bath Pet Centre's excellent level of customer service and dedication to the promotion of responsible pet ownership.
They also liked our level of knowledge of animal welfare, our education programmes and animal boarding service, our contribution to the local community and involvement with complementary animal services such as local vets, groomers etc. The judges were especially impressed with the relationship our staff have with our customers and their final statement was that we are all about "service, service, service".
We must commend all our staff for consistently providing such high levels of customer service and yet still retaining a friendly approach, giving a 'homely feel' to our stores.
This year we have also been praised for being forward thinking and for the development of our new website (www.notjustpets.co.uk) which is both contemporary and informative. During National Pet Month earlier this year the judges for that competition thought that we showed "A great example of specialist retailing on the high street and what it takes to be successful. Highlights include a good website, advertising with local radio, additional services such as animal boarding for holiday periods, well trained staff, and excellent consumer interaction through fun days generating an 'X-factor' for the stores. Responsible pet ownership and range is at the heart of what they (Bath Pet Centre) offer."
We are hoping to build on this great praise and have further plans for development in the near future. We shall be turning our minds to reorganising the larger Bath shop during October now that we know we are staying - and to providing some more fun "in store" days in conjunction with our suppliers and local charities. Other plans include launching a weigh-in programme for our customers' dogs in Frome - we have new scales in store so customers can gauge how much they should be feeding their dog - and this will also be useful in determining weight for medications such as worming treatments.
We have also purchased a tag engraving machine and will be providing an immediate service for our customers, (in the Frome store to begin with) so that they can decide on a name tag or collar ID for their animal and have it made right on the spot.
Once again we have to say a big thank you to all our staff for all their continued hard work in helping the Company to achieve this prestigious award, especially in this difficult climate. Thanks too to all our lovely customers!! Well done and thank you, everyone :)
